Waco, Texas (Aug. 22, 2008) – Families are invited to discover the natural world of Central Texas on Sept. 20-21 at the Texas Outdoor Family Workshop.

This year’s workshop will take place at Camp Hope in McGregor. The registration deadline is Sept. 15.

Hosted by the City of Waco Parks and Recreation Department and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the mission of the workshop is simple: teach families basic outdoor skills so they can enjoy the beautiful parks across the state.

Families will take part in introductory classes that include activities such as kayaking, fishing, camping, biking, archery and geo-caching.

The cost of the program is $50 for adults and $30 for children. The price includes meals, camping, instruction, and demonstration equipment.
