Mayor Bill White heard that some residents of one of the low lying areas of Houston had not been able to evacuate.

He and a city councilman drove to the area and found several families who had been unable to evacuate due to language and financial barriers, and lack of transportation.

Mayor White ordered six buses to go pick these people up, and three of the buses were filled.

That area is now under water. Thanks goodness this mayor really takes his job and responsibilities seriously.
