(Press release)

The Greater Waco Aviation Alliance will host its inaugural Freedom Ball from 7 p.m. to midnight Oct. 25 in the Act I Hangar at Texas State Technical College Airport.

The World War II‐themed gala will benefit aviation scholarships and salute the men and women of the armed forces.

The popular Austin‐based band, Rotel and the Hot Tomatoes, named one of America’s Top 10 party bands, will provide the evening’s entertainment. The event will feature dinner, drinks and
dancing.

“This event represents a new step for the Greater Waco Aviation Alliance,” said Jim Allmon, president of the Aviation Alliance advisory board and president/CEO of Waco’s Blackhawk Modifications.

“Our first fund‐raising activity is designed to emphasize our commitment to education because we understand the benefits of having a strong, skilled aerospace workforce in making Waco an attractive community for growth in the aviation industry.”

Proceeds will be used for Greater Waco students pursuing careers in aviation, with special consideration given to those who are dependents of active‐duty military personnel.

Event attire is “after 5.” Current and former military personnel encouraged to wear their uniforms (mess dress).

The Greater Waco Aviation Alliance is a committee of the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce and advocates for more than 30 aviation and aviation‐related companies that attract companies and individuals to Waco from around the world by offering diverse products and
services ranging from the installation of sophisticated communications systems in military aircraft to aircraft repair, performance upgrades, engineering, systems design and maintenance facilities.

Tickets are $75 per person. Veterans and active duty military personnel are offered a discount rate of $50 per person. Tables of eight are available for $500. To purchase tickets, contact Christy Sanders at (254) 757‐5611.

You should offer a scholarship or some type of award in the memory of Joe Stahl. Old Joe was an exceptional pilot as anyone who anyone who was taught by him could tell you.
