(Press release)

The J.A.I.L. Ministry’s Annual Fundraiser Banquet is scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 2008 to begin at 6:15 p.m. at the Bell County Expo Center. Sheriff Dan Smith will serve as Master of Ceremonies.

Theme is “Game Plan for Life” and our scripture is “…let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith…”
Hebrews 12:1-2

Speaker will be Billy Cox, talented author, international motivational speaker and success coach. He is the author of the highly successful books ‘You Gotta Get in the Game’ and ‘The Dream Book’. He motivates any group, blending facts, inspiration, humor, and conviction with audience participation. His high energy, passionate and down to each style helps him leave all attendees with a meaningful experience that puts learning into action and creates measurable results for years to come. Cox says that “everything in life revolves around our relationship with Christ. We are what we think…there’s a scripture about that …’ as a man thinketh, so is he.’ It’s how you act or react to life, your attitude. Everything must be with God’s help.” He adds that we must “…put God first – God, family, work – now more than ever.”

Committee Chairs include Lou Nichols and Jeannette Kelley, Sponsors; Sharon Ellis, Kathie Kimes, Invitations; Taffy Martin and Catherine Mason, Publicity; Patty Burns, Program; Jan Muske, Reservations & Visual presentation; Janice O’Banon, Decorations; Priscilla Montgomery, Clean Up; Joyce Tuggle, Finances, and Susan Cain, Correspondence.

Reservations may be made before October 17 by calling the JAIL Ministry Office at 254-933-8506. Tickets are $20.00 per person or $150.00 for a table of 8. Dinner will be catered by Las Casas.

In 1988, Harold Ellis and a small contingent of volunteers began ministering to inmates in the Bell County Jail. Today, J.A.I.L. Ministry, Inc. reaches over 25,000 adult and juvenile inmates each year with Bible studies, church services, cell block evangelism, and one-on-one encouragement. The staff responds to critical incidents in Bell County to assist where needed. Law enforcement professionals, victims, and affected families also benefit from this ministry. In addition, Bibles and Christian reading materials are distributed. The outreach today includes over 250 volunteers who participate in the Bell County Jail and the Juvenile Detention Services Center in Killeen.

The Mission of J.A.I.L. Ministry, Inc. is to bring restoration through Jesus Christ to the lives of inmates, juvenile offenders, victims, law enforcement professionals and affected families, thereby having a positive influence on our society. Changed hearts mean changed lives.
