WACO, Texas—On Nov. 24-25, the family Broadway musical “Oliver!” will be showing at the Waco Hippodrome at 7:30 p.m.
Originally, “Oliver’s!” touring production was scheduled to leave Waco for Galveston to perform at the Historic 1892 Grand Opera House on Tuesday, Nov. 25th. However, with the devastation to Galveston’s theater from Hurricane Ike, the “Oliver!” production crew was missing a performance after they showed in Waco. So, the Waco Performing Arts Company decided to help by picking up Galveston’s performance and providing Waco with two night showings of “Oliver!”
In conjunction with the production of “Oliver!” we are supporting the community-wide “Food for Families” food drive with hopes of giving an incentive for Waco ISD elementary students to participate.
The Waco Hippodrome has just installed a new top-of-the-line HD movie projector, and is offering the winning elementary class from Waco ISD the chance to watch the movie “Oliver!” at the theater with our new projector.
“Food for Families” food drive will be all-day on Fri. Nov. 21, and a winning class will be announced then. WAPC is hoping for a great turn-out from the students, and a fun movie showing for the winning class.
Consider yourself enchanted by “Oliver!” Hailed the world over as on the best-loved family musicals of all time, Oliver brings to the stage some of Charles Dickens’ most unforgettable characters along with one of Broadway’s most memorable scores.
Hits such as “Consider Yourself At Home,” “Food, Glorious Food” and “Where is love” surround this heartwarming tale of the young orphan Oliver Twist in this all new production of Lionel Bart’s magical musical treasure.
