Hispanic Heritage Festival at MCC celebrates Latin culture
The McLennan Community College Hispanic Student Association will host the Hispanic Heritage Festival from 2-6 p.m. April 19.

The McLennan Community College Hispanic Student Association will host the Hispanic Heritage Festival from 2-6 p.m. April 19 at the Bosque River Stage at MCC. The event will celebrate the Hispanic culture with music, dancing, food and other activities. Admission is free.

The event kicks off with dance performances by Baylor Ocelotl de Folklorico, the Baylor Salsa Club and the Waco Salsa Club. Waco author Sandra Sanchez will speak at 3:15 p.m., and event favorite Las Estrellas de Waco will dance at 3:30. Grupo Vida will take the stage at 4:30. DJ Poder will provide additional music throughout the event.

The Hispanic Heritage Festival benefits MCC student scholarships, with funds being raised from the cost of food, drinks and children’s activities at the event. Radio station La Ley 104.1 and HEB are sponsoring the festival.
