In the end of June one of the employees of Bicycles Outback was randomly and brutally attacked while paying for gas on his way home from the shop.
His name is Jon Pursley and many of you know him from racing the single speed series here in the state.
He was stabbed eight times in the abdomen and back and leg, had a compound fracture of his lower left leg and many broken bones in his face.
He is now on the road to recovery but is in need of assistance. He does not have health insurance and it will be a while before he works.
We will be holding a benefit auction and dinner on August 1st at the Bledsoe Miller Recreation center in Waco.
There will be a silent auction with many items donated by Santa Cruz Mountain Bikes, Giro, Specialized, Boozer Jewlers and many others.
There will be a group road ride at 5p.m. with dinner and the auction following at 6:30.
Jon really needs your help on this one, it was a brutal and senseless act that happened and anyone that can help is very much appreciated.
There is a fund set up for Jon at Compass Bank Acct. #2519488720 and the Account is called Victim Fund for Jon.
Please email me if you plan on attending or have any questions.
