(Press release)
The Fort Hood Area Habitat for Humanity, an agency of the United Way, has completed its 55th home in the Bell, Coryell, and Lampasas county area.
This home, built for the Herzog family, has been made possible with funds received from the E. Rhodes and Leona B. Carpenter Foundation, The United Way of Central Texas, Employees of Professional Datasolutions Inc. (PDI), First Baptist Church Belton, Unity Church of Temple, ITW, WILSONART, and countless other donations from individuals, businesses, civic organizations and churches.
This home is also an Energy Star Certified with a Home Energy Rating System (HERS) index of 77. A HERS index of 77 means the home uses 23% less energy than a home built to traditional standards.
Countless individuals and groups participated in this home by providing the hundreds of volunteer hours necessary to build it.
The dedication ceremony will be Friday, August 14th at 6:30 pm, at 605 South Davis Street in Belton. The public is welcome to the ceremony and is welcome to tour the home to see what a Habitat home is like.
