(Waco) — Approximately 100 colleges from across the nation will be represented during the annual Heart of Texas College Night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Baylor University’s Ferrell Center.

The event, free and open to all students in grades 7 to 12, and their parents, provides them with the opportunity to visit with college representatives and learn more about college without the expense of travel.

Additionally, a pre-event session beginning at 6:30 p.m. will give parents tips on how to help transition their child from high school to post-secondary education. A financial aid and scholarship information session will be held from 7:15 to 8 p.m. Both sessions will take place in the Ferrell Center Stone Room.

The event is sponsored by Baylor University, Region 12 Education Service Center, McLennan Community College, Texas State Technical College, Midway ISD, Waco ISD and Vanguard College Preparatory.
