WACO, TX - What a better way to show our Service Members thanks than to help make Christmas a special time for their children while they serve our country.

Heart of the Brazos Oral & Facial Surgery [www.brazossurgery.com] is teaming up with the Fort Hood based non-profit organization, Celebration of Love [www.celebrationoflove.org], to raise funds in the form of gift cards to purchase new toys and bikes for children of our military men and women at Fort Hood.

"We are needing Central Texans to join us in showing how much we appreciate and care for our Service Members this Christmas," says Dr. Charles Clark, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon at Heart of the Brazos Oral & Facial Surgery. Dr. Clark served 12 years as a U.S. Army Surgeon, he adds "Moms and Dads need to know their kids will not be forgotten as they serve our country."

Heart of the Brazos Oral & Facial Surgery, located in Woodway, has been asked for the 2nd year by Celebration of Love to be the local venue for raising gift cards and bikes for the children.

Celebration of Love will hold its 4th annual Christmas Program at Fort Hood on Saturday, December 5th. An estimated 1,800 families which includes 4000 children will be included for this year as recipient's of the donated Christmas toys and bikes.

The goal is to provide 2 new toys per child and a new bike per child from tricycle to 12 year old age appropriate.

Deputy Installation Chaplain, Jon Tidball, LT.Col., USA (RET.) and Celebration of Love Board of Director states that this year is of greater need, "there are more families we will need to help because of many reasons, more Service Members are returning from Iraq and there is a definite financial strain during this time. We don't want to forget their children who make the real sacrifices while a parent is deployed."

Heart of the Brazos Oral & Facial Surgery is seeking the public's help in raising gift cards and the bikes. Wal-mart and Sam's Club have graciously provided a discount for all toys and bikes bought for this program through Celebration of Love. Thus, gift cards to these stores would be optimal. Celebration of Love will then purchase the toys with the donated gift cards prior to the December 5th Christmas Program.

Tom Ramsey, Executive Director with Celebration of Love states, "Waco is a wonderful community with many military families and great Veterans because of this we've come to Dr. Clark, Dr. Warren and their HBOFS staff to help us, once again, show our Service Members that love comes beyond Fort Hood."

This year, Heart of the Brazos Oral & Facial Surgery will hold a Bike Drive at the medical & dental practice:

WHERE: Heart of the Brazos Oral & Facial Surgery, 103 Burnett Court, Woodway [located off Hwy 84 West toward McGregor, exit Hewitt/Estates Drive. Continue on access road 1/4 mile to Burnett Court.]

WHEN: Tuesday, November 10th 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.

WHAT: Celebration of Love will have their box truck from Fort Hood along with COL representatives on site to pick - up donated new bikes and gift cards.

It seems "Army Wives" is not very educated in the lives of the men and women that serve our country. Michelle is correct, they are away from families, spouses and any support system others take for granted. While their spouse is deployed; they become single parents. They are the ones that handle it all, doctors, school, yard work, homework, car repairs, etc. When my Dad was a young Marine way back when, he had to poach a deer to feed us. My mom still will not eat deer meat! They deserve a break and then some! The military has my support! You all rock!

to who it may concern: whoever thinks the military makes $ has obviously never lived this life! We are seperated from our families (34hours away) Our income is barely enough to feed and cloth our children w our other bills. My husband will be leaving for Iraq in two months and we will not see him for a year at least. No cousins, Aunts, Uncles, or grandparents to help physically or financially. This is our committment to our country and we take pride in it. Let there be no misgivings about how needed this program is for low rank families. May you have a merry Christmas mam!!!!
