The Belton/Temple varsity football game is Thursday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. @ Wildcat stadium. (The game will be broadcast on ESPNU on Dish Network Channel 141; Time Warner Cable Channel 436; & DIRECTV Channel 614.)

When the idea of ESPN coming to Temple was initially discussed in April, there was disbelief.

When the announcement became official Aug. 24, those feelings turned to astonishment.

Belton (7-1 overall, 4-1 District 12-5A) faces Temple (3-5, 2-3) at 7 tonight at Wildcat Stadium, the chance of a lifetime has finally arrived.

They get to play on national TV! Win or lose, it will be a moment they'll never forget.

Watch it if you can't make it to the game......TODAY! Broadcast on ESPNU, find it on your tv at 7pm.

Wow!!!! Congrats to the Belton Tigers! It must feel awesome to play on a real football field, one day ya'll just might have the same... don’t count on it! So they won, big deal, the game will come again and when it does we will be ready. Coach McQueen come back to T-High and let’s show them what real coaching is all about! I would like to add to the comment made by the previous reader about liking it when a Belton football player hit their opponent, really? Who says that? GROW UP!!!! There is never a time where violence becomes okay, especially not over a football game!!! Go BIG BLUE!!!! Next time we will beat them on their so called football field! Belton, learn to appreciate the opportunity that Temple gave you, if it wasn’t for us the opportunity to play on National television would of never happened! Welcome to the big leagues!!!
