Special Report with Bret Bair on Fox News Channel will air a spotlight story on a local female soldier named Sgt.Kelly Carlin on Veterans Day. Sgt. Carlin is the daughter of Dr.Scott Crockett and Beckie Seiley of Marlin, Tx. Fox News reporters followed Sgt. Carlin around for a day while she was performing duties in Iraq. Her battalion colonel recommended her to be filmed due to her success in self taught Arabic. She is currently teaching Iraq soldiers. Sgt. Carlin speaks several languages fluently and is considered a huge asset to her battalion as a translator, educator and liason between US and Iraqi soldiers. Fox News also found it very facinating that Kelly is an accomplished ballroom dancer. We say that she traded in her high heels for her combat boots! With so many negative things coming out of Marlin, this proves that no matter where you go to school or grow up, you can be successful. Also, the fact that the ballroom dance is highlighted shows that our soldiers have a life and are not just "machines".
