FLSA Status: Unpaid Internship Job Status: Unpaid Internship Work Schedule: • Varies Reports To: • DE Event Coordinator • DE/VH Manager Amount of Travel Required: N/A POSITION SUMMARY This position will be responsible for assisting the Event Coordinator with the coordination and planning of all traditional Designer Events. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. o Assist the Event Coordinator with the coordination and planning of in-house events (coordinate dates, determine number of guests, cost per event ) o Maintain all communication files o Attend and assist in execution of all in-house events o Follow-up with deposits and records o Closing of DE files o Assist in the selling of all in-house events (including but not limited to Wine and Roses Festival, Harvest, Murder Mystery Dinners, and Winemaker’s Birthday) o Answer phones and direct calls o Assist with weekly pre-event consultations with the Event Coordinator o Assist Event Coordinator with the planning, event set-up, execution, tear down, and clean up of the traditional events o Check supply stock for up-coming events and report to event coordinator o Organize Wine and Roses and Harvest binders with all required information o Other duties as assigned POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Competency Statement(s) • Related degree and/or 2-4 years related experience • Ability to use a personal computer • Experience in customer relations and customer service with events including scheduling, planning delegating tasks to provide quality service and hospitality to guests • Excellent communication and organizational skills, eye for detail, positive motivational attitude, and ability to handle all communication between prospective vendors • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an intern to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the intern is regularly required to talk or hear. The intern is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. The intern is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The intern must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The intern is frequently required to stand for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an intern encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
