Reports To: MHHC Tasting Room Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the increase in retail sales of Messina Hof wines at the winery, the care of the physical center, and the hospitality of the guests. This person is the host for our guests. This position will be responsible for selling all Messina Hof Hill Country in-house events and outside events, as well as coordinating service and execution of all events. This position will be responsible for creating and selling new events throughout the year.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
• Care of the Retail and Wine Bar Area:
• Make sure each guest is maximally comfortable
• Maintain the merchandising of the Messina Hof products
• Making sure the guest center and wine bar is clean and neat, displays polished, and merchandise dusted daily
• Make sure all areas are sanitized and stocked each morning
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms
• Maintain full stock of gourmet food items, wines, and gift shop items
• Maintain all areas in accordance with health department codes
• Maintain patio areas as clean inviting environments
• Assist with cleanliness and maintenance of Manor Haus Bed and Breakfast
• Assist with general facility maintenance, cleaning and up-keep
• Sales:
• Retail sales and tastings
• Education of Messina Hof guests on wine, wine/food combinations and wine appreciation
• Gift preparation
• Opening and closing procedures
• Increase market share of Messina Hof Hill Country Winery and Manor Haus Bed and Breakfast
• Increase membership of the VIP Club and Wine Club
• Inventory Control:
• Maintain 0 shrinkage
• Account for all movement
• Assist with inventories as needed
• Assist with unloading wine and gift shop transfers and stocking all items
• Telemarketing Sales:
• Sale of Messina Hof products for special events
• Targeting and soliciting groups for Messina Hof tours and tasting
• Act on sales leads and increase sales and event business
• Participate in initiatives to previous customers as well as to potential customers and groups
• Events:
• Sell, plan and coordinate all in-house events and outside events
• Determine number of guests and notify affected departments of changes
• Assist with cost per event
• Coordinate staffing of events with MHHC Management
• Attend all in-house events
• Follow up with deposits and records
• Close files: bookkeeping, correspondence, etc.
• Directly responsible for event execution, including acting as a liaison between Retail staff, management of Retail staff, as well as management of set-up and breakdown. Responsible for consultations with the General Manager, and client, as needed
• Responsible for all planning, event set-up, execution and tear down for both in-house events and outside events
• Responsible for delivering event invoices and posting event register on day of event
• Responsible for on-going organization and cleanliness of resource areas
• Check supplies for up-coming events and replenish stock, as needed. Maintain inventory
• Create, sell and execute new Messina Hof Hill Country In-House events and outside events
• Other duties as designated

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Competency Statement(s)
• Related degree and/or 2-4 years related experience
• Ability to use a personal computer
• Experience in customer relations and customer service with events including scheduling, planning delegating tasks to provide quality service and hospitality to guests
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, eye for detail, positive motivational attitude, and ability to handle all communication between prospective vendors
• Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
