(9 Month Position) Enforces parking regulations and offers public assistance to university employees and visitors during evenings and nights. Enforces parking regulations by giving warnings and issuing parking citations including checking for overtime or illegal/restricted parking. Applies and removes immobility devices. May perform medium physical work. Moves and sets up barrels, barricades and other traffic control equipment. Exposure to vehicle movement hazards if proper safety procedures are not followed. Performs traffic control and direction duties. Keeps records and makes detailed reports. Performs such tactile activities as key punch, grasping, holding, lifting, reaching, crouching, standing for extended periods of time, walking, and repetitive tasks.

Persons in this position will be required to drive state vehicle to travel to various parts of campus and are considered essential when the University declares an emergency, campus closure, class cancellations, etc. Assists senior Parking Services staff with towing of vehicles. Assists with uniform and equipment inventory; maintains parking services offices, work areas, and vehicles in a neat and orderly manner. Required to participate in field training program to upgrade skills and will be expected to perform senior officer duties as part of training status. May perform duties in dispatch office handling routine and emergency calls, disseminate information to the appropriate parties, provide license plate and parking permit information, coordinate activities with other agencies and/or emergency services and may direct the actions of other parking service officers. May perform duties in Special Controlled Access Network station. Provides information to employees, students, and visitors regarding campus parking regulations and directions. Provides low-level security while patrolling. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
High school graduation or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Two years of full-time work experience. Valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain State of Texas class "C" vehicle operator's license within 30 days of employment.

While this position normally works from mid-August until mid- May, on an assigned shift that starts after 2 p.m., it is a FULLTIME (100%) position during those months, and will frequently require overtime work at other than regularly scheduled shift hours, including morning hours and hours later than 10:30 p.m. hour. Regular workdays will include weekend days, and days off will change every 4 to 8 weeks. May be required to work some days, holidays and weekends. Individual must also possess the ability to work with reduced levels of managerial oversight and perform supervisory tasks as necessary. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Rate of Pay: $11.21/hr eligible for overtime, plus benefits
