FORT HOOD (March 16, 2010)—An investigation is underway into the death of a 1st Cavalry Division soldier, Fort Hood said Tuesday.

Spc. Erik Georgevega, 30, of Austin, died Sunday in San Antonio, Fort Hood said.

Other details were not released.

Georgevega joined the Army in May 2004 and was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division’s Alpha Battery, 5th Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team.
