WACO (May 9, 2009)—The La Vega ISD issued a brief statement Saturday, two days after a 16-year-old high school student was attacked at La Vega High School and another teenager was arrested in connection with the attack.
The statement said, “The administration of La Vega High School and the district are providing their full support to the Bellmead Police Department in this case. This case is now being handled by the Bellmead Police Department.”
Bellmead Police Chief Robert Harold said Friday he will seek hate crime charges against Jarvis Antwain Iglehart, 17, because ethnic slurs were directed at the victim.
The victim, who was not identified, was taken to a Waco hospital.
Information about the nature of his injuries and his condition was not released.
Iglehart was ordered held in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Isn't this on a different attack? I thought the rape was at the middle school. This is an entirely different attack and it says the student will be charged with a hate crime for racial slurs during the attack.

It's about time a black person, or anyone other then a white person, has been accused of a hate crime, let alone racism.
