WACO (May 12, 2009)—Blum Elementary School Principal Mark Brandenberger, 38, who left Clifton Monday morning to drive to Blum, but never arrived at school, was found Tuesday in Waco.
Brandenberger was at the Barnes and Noble bookstore at West Waco Drive and Lake Air Drive, police said.
Waco police said they received a report Brandenberger was in the store at about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Clifton Police Chief Steve Adock said he went to the bookstore and made sure Brandenberger returned safely home.
He said Brandenberger was unharmed and was with his wife, but wouldn’t say where the school administrator was during the more than 24 hours he was missing.
He did say no criminal investigation is being conducted.
Authorities in both Hill and Bosque Counties had been looking for him since Monday and some officers had searched throughout the night.
The last known contact with Brandenberger was in the form of a text message at around 7 a.m. Monday, police said.
After that, his cell phone was turned off, police said.
