TEMPLE (June 18, 2009)—Investigators spent a fourth fruitless day working through the layers at the Temple landfill in search of evidence in the disappearance of Patrick Sullivan, Jr. 55, who left his house in the 1100 block of South 3rd Street on April 2 and hasn't been seen since.

More than 50 people are involved daily in the search, police said, including 32 police officers, five civilian Police Department employees, three to five machine operators, four paramedics, five Texas Department of Criminal Justice dog handlers, one dog handler from the Shreveport, La. Fire Department and one FBI agent.

The Scott & White EMS crews monitor the health of each member of the search team.

Local businesses including H-E-B, Walmart, Reddy Ice of Waco and Jack Hilliard Distributing are also supporting the effort, police said Thursday.

Police said Tuesday they expect to spend the next two weeks searching the landfill.

They aren’t saying exactly what they’re looking for, although a spokesman did say that the evidence, if found, would represent a significant break in the investigation.

Sullivan is white, 5-foot-8 and weighs about 170 pounds.

He has gray hair and blue eyes

He was a daily customer at Bill's Grill in Temple, police said.

In a brief statement released Monday, Temple police said, “information gathered by detectives indicates a strong likelihood that evidence pertinent to the case may have been put in this segment of the landfill shortly after Mr. Sullivan’s disappearance.

There are lots of "clues" to look for even at the city dump. They at least have an idea of what to look for and the area in which to look in. Lets hope they find the "clue" soon, the heat is not good for the cadaver dogs, nor for the men and women looking.
