CORYELL COUNTY (June 22, 2009)-- A 22-year-old Coryell County man, who was wanted on sexual assault charges stemming from incidents involving a mentally disabled teenager, was found Friday evening with a knife stuck in his neck after what evidently was a suicide attempt, authorities said Monday.

Christopher Lace Mobley was flown to Scott & White Hospital in Temple after Coryell County sheriff’s deputies found him Friday evening.

He was released from the hospital on Saturday and Temple police officers immediately arrested him.

He was in the Bell County Jail Monday, awaiting transfer back to Coryell County,

The arrest warrant issued for Mobley stems from a series of at least four sexual assaults in June involving the mentally disabled 16-year-old, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies went to the home of Mobley’s aunt and grandmother Friday evening in Gatesville and saw Mobley in the front yard.

He went inside the house and his aunt came outside and asked what the deputies needed, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded that they had arrest warrants for him and she said he had gone into the bathroom, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies found him on the floor of the laundry room, bleeding from a neck wound.

When Mobley stood up, the Sheriff’s Office said, a knife was still lodged in his neck.

Texas Rangers were asked to investigate the incident that occurred at the aunt’s house, the Sheriff’s Office said.

This isn't the first time this young man was "set-up" by his wife and her family. He is a very loyal husband and father. He forgave all to keep his family together. He did not do what they have charged him with. I am not allowed by the newspaper to tell you that the 17 year old(who receives DSHS/SSI income)has been the finacial hub of this family. He is almost eighteen and the gravy train stops unless they can get the state to pay child support on this new baby. GUILT IS NOT THE REASON FOR SUICIDE...HOPELESSNESS IS.
