WACO (June 29-2009)-A man was stabbed Monday afternoon while making a purchase at a Waco convenience store and both he and the woman suspected of attacking him were taken to a local hospital.
Police said the man was buying a beer at Melvin's Convenience Store, at N. 19th and Alexander, when a woman came up behind him and stabbed him with a broken bottle.
The clerk told News 10 reporters he didn’t realize what happened until the injured man turned around and the clerk saw blood covering his shirt.
Neighbors told police the woman who was detained in connection with the assault had been beaten severely earlier in the day.
She had blood on her face and her clothing, they said.
Witnesses also reported seeing the man following the woman earlier in a car and threatening her.
She reportedly also suffered some type of stab wounds to her legs.
The witnesses told police that when the man stopped at Melvin's, the injured woman followed him inside the store.
No arrests had been made late Monday afternoon
The names and conditions of the man and the woman were not immediately available.

I don't understand, if neighbors knew she was getting beaten, why did no one call the police. What is wrong with these people and their neighbors? I'm still shocked that no police were called to the apartments where the little 5yr old boy was beaten to death! Oh I remember now, the police were too busy doing a sting operation catching the "two old guys" who were growing marijuana...
