I have lived in Marlin all my life, and as much as I hate to say this, I don't think anything will help the kids of this town until the parents and people in authority start taking control, and I don't see that happening. Most of these kids have no respect for anyone or anything. It's all well and good in theory to think providing things for them will make a difference, but when it comes down to it, the kids around here want to be in control and if they're not they will destroy any attempts made. I took my children out of the school here a long time ago because a fourth grade student, who was said to have been a problem since kindergarden, cussed out his teacher and nothing was done about it because his parents refused to come to the school when called, so he was just sent back to class. The school said their hands were tied and they couldn't do anything. Until these kids are taught some respect, nothing is going to work.

To LT Fan you must not know that LT is a kid from Marlin and his manners are just fine as well as mine. There are kids everywhere that need to be taught manners that is just not a Marlin thing! Trust me I see them everyday in Waco. A change needs to take place in Marlin so the kids will have a fighting chance to have a life other than drugs and the streets.
