BELL COUNTY (July 2, 2009)—Firefighters from several Bell County departments battled a wildfire Thursday east of Salado.

Smoke from the fire was visible from as far away as Temple.

The Bell County East Side Task Force was activated after the first units arrived.

Another fire was burning Thursday afternoon four miles east of Bruceville-Eddy in the area of Highway 7 and CR 435.
