BRIGGS (July 24, 2009)--A Copperas Cove teenager is dead after the vehicle she was driving collided with an 18-wheeler Thursday.

Monica Annmaria Guice, 19, was pronounced dead at Scott and White Hospital, in Temple, after she was flown there by helicopter ambulance.

Guice was westbound on Loop 308 at 4:55 p.m. Thursday when she attempted to pull onto U.S. Highway 183 at Briggs.

Guice's 2008 Dodge Avenger collided with a 2010 Peterbuilt tractor semi-trailer truck driven by Andrew Wheeler, 24, of Comanche.

Texas Department of Public Safety trooper Ricky Mintz investigated the accident and reported Guice failed to yield to the truck.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

There were two children in the truck cab with Wheeler and they were wearing seatbelts, as well.

No one in the truck cab was injured.

Dr. Timothy Stallard pronounced Guice dead at 6:42 p.m.
