BRUCEVILLE-EDDY (August 21, 2009)—Arrest warrants charging manslaughter have been issued for a Little River-Academy couple who own the pickup truck involved in a hit-and-run in 2008 that left one Central Texas teenager dead and another seriously injured.
The warrants naming Gregory Wade McLean, 39, and Jackie Lynn McLean McLean, 40, stem from the May 9, 2008 hit-and-run that left Bree Anne Breichner, 17, of Bruceville-Eddy dead and James Preston Nolan, 20, of Valley Mills, critically injured.
Nolan, who was 18 at the time of the accident, and Breichner were walking south on the I-35 frontage road after leaving the Bruceville-Eddy Mayfest just before midnight, when the 2007 Dodge truck hit them.
A Bell County sheriff’s deputy found the truck abandoned in Little River-Academy after a motorist reported a possible accident.
It was impounded and turned it over to the Texas Department of Public Safety Crime Lab for processing.
DNA evidence recovered from the truck formed a big part of the investigators’ case.
Bruceville-Eddy police have talked to the couple’s attorneys and said the McLeans plan to turn themselves Monday in at the McLennan County Jail.

Really Mama are you serious?? They have had to have carefree days until recently when they got caught. If they didn't don't you think they would have come forward read the arrest affidavits.. They are lying and that we can judge....That is a good idea we should string them up and throw things at them they are trash!!!!!
How can any of you know what these people have endured since the accident? Do you think they had carefree days of partying and planning a vacation? I doubt it. They did wrong they know it and now they will pay the price. Why not just string them up and have people come by and throw things at them. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
To Anonymous from Rogers: Look back on yourself but don't judge everyone else by your standards. Yes I drank and partied in my youth but I NEVER got behind the wheel after even a sip of alcohol. These two if guilty deserve to lose everything. They deserve to rot in jail and they should be charged with murder because they choose to get behind the wheel and drive drunk. I have called the MP's when a friend refused to give up his keys and was trying to drive drunk and I did it because I cared. My best friend killed herself in a one car accident when she was drunk and she had her 2 year old with her. I thank God that her daughter wasn't injured and I still get angry with Janet for what she did to herself, her family and everyone who loved her. So Anon just because you try to justify the times you've driven drunk by saying everyone who drinks has done it take responsibility for your actions and grow up. My kids know all priveleges they have will end if I ever catch them drinking and drivin.
