MEXIA (September 15, 2009)—Bryan Maxwell, 23, of Mexia died Monday in an accident on a rain-slickened highway involving four pickup trucks, authorities said Tuesday.
Maxwell was driving west on Highway 84 late Monday afternoon about two miles east of Mexia when his 2005 Dodge pickup hydroplaned on the wet road.
Maxwell’s truck struck two other pickups and then was struck by the fourth truck.
Maxwell died of his injuries, authorities said.
The driver of the 2006 Chevy pickup that hit Maxwell’s truck, Ray Bostic, was treated at Parkview Regional Hospital and was later released.
Heavy rain was falling in the area at the time of the accident.

A rollover accident may actually be related to hydroplaning. Usually, a rollover happens because a car turns sharply one way or another. See the videos on hydroplaning linked from our website, http://fishtail.tv Far too many hydroplaning accidents are ignored because they involve one car wrecks or cases in which the most injured party is thought to be at fault. Failing to properly investigate the tire installation facts in a hydroplaning or fishtailing wreck is a huge mistake. All manufacturers recommendations state that the new tires should go on the back. If new tires are installed on the front (the myth as to what should be done) the sellers or installers of such tires are clearly liable for all injuries. Attorney Gordon Johnson www.fishtail.tv
