Central Texas Woman Injured In Accidental Shooting

GROESBECK (September 25, 2009)—A rural Limestone County woman accidentally shot herself Friday morning at her rural residence, sheriff’s deputies said.
Deborah Mills, 51, was attempting to take a loaded .22-caliber rifle out of her house Friday morning when the weapon discharged and the bullet struck her in the torso, deputies said.
Deputies responded to the address on Limestone County Road 607 at about 9:45 a.m., along with Mart Volunteer Fire Department members, who set up a landing zone for a medical helicopter.
Mills was flown to Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, in Waco.
Deputies said she is expected to survive.
Deputies also told News 10 they have responded to Mills house several times on domestic issues in the past few days.

That sounds real strange. It's hard to shoot yourself in the torso with a rifle if you are holding it normally.

would be kinda hard i think to shoot yourself with a rifle maybe the law should do alittle more checking into this and also didnt the report say the law had been called out on several occasions due to domestic

I think it would be quite hard to accidentally SHOOT YOURSELF with a rifle. Law enforcement should check into this incident further.
