(OCTOBER 2, 2009)—The powerful line of storms that blew through Central Texas Thursday night left some damage behind.
In Prairie Valley between Whitney and Laguna Park, the storm blew a feeding trough through a barn, damaged sheds and downed trees, according to resident Krista Young, who provided photographs of the aftermath.
The storm also tore the roof off her grandfather’s house, she said.
Clifton resident Jim Bryant said the storm caused damaged at Lofers Bend Park near the Lake Whitney dam and at Harbor Master Marina.
He said trees including old-growth live oaks were damaged or uprooted.
High winds overturned some RVs and damaged, others, he said, blowing down tents and scattering such things as lawn chairs.
In McLennan County, the storm downed several large trees on County Line Road east of FM 933 and Roger Hill Road at FM 933 near Wiggins.
Tree limbs were reported down on the south side of Marquez in Leon County.
At Lake Whitney, the storms damaged trees.
In Burleson in Johnson County, the storm collapsed a wooden fence and downed tree limbs up to six inches in diameter in the Briar Oaks Subdivision.
Several trees were also downed in Burleson.

I hope the Corps of Engineers that oversee the parks can clean up the mess. The last time some trees were broken by storms they left dead tree limbs laying all around the campsites for nearly a month.
