LOMETA (October 19, 2009)--A former Lometa schoolteacher was free on bond on Monday, after she was arrested and charged with improper relationship with a student.

The Lampasas County Sheriff's Office says deputies arrested 27-year-old Sara Elizabeth Dickison on Thursday.

She’s charged with one count of improper relationship between educator/student.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the sheriff's office received a complaint against Dickison on Sept. 18, just days after Dickison resigned from the Lometa ISD.

The affidavit says the complaint was regarding, "allegations of a Lometa Independent School District teacher having sexual intercourse with a student who was enrolled in the district during the time that the sexual intercourse was occurring."

The affidavit says the victim was a Lometa High School student.

Lometa Independent School District Superintendent David Rice said Dickison was a kindergarten teacher before she resigned on Sept. 15.

In a phone interview Monday, Rice said the arrest "was something that needed to be done, its unfortunate because people trust their kids to come to school.”

“Anytime that trust is violated, its just not a good situation,” he said.

The Lampasas County Sheriff's Office said Lampasas County Precinct 2&3 Justice of the Peace R.E. Lockett arraigned Dickison.

Her bond was set at $15,000.

The Lometa ISD, which has about 320 students, is northwest of Lampasas.

to be quite honest i really dont even know sara that well. I just know im not in the place to judge others and I have mistakes as well. Im sure you have a few UGLY skeletons in your closet no one knows of.. It is a sad situation and I do feel sorry for her EX-husband and daughter but no matter what mistakes my mom is capable of making I would never not love her. Maybe you can tell ALL your secrets to your TWO beautiful children and expect them to unlove you....We are all Gods children and he loves us no matter what. So sorry you dont look at life that way!

I agree with alot of what Former Lometa Citizen said but the sad thing is this woman will probably never see jail time!!! She will probably get 10 yrs probation like every other SEX OFFENDER and be left to run the streets and pray on younger boys some more! I think it is disgusting how society attacks the boy involved! I guess people have forgot that he is a child! In most cases the CHILD is considered the VICTIM but not in small hick towns! News flash she was the ADULT and he was the CHILD! In other terms she was the PREDATOR and he was the PREY! So seriously people wake up! If this was a 10 yr old or younger people would want her to be prosecuted to the fullest extent but since he is not it is considered his fault or he asked for it! All I have to say is people who think that about this child are SICK and ya'll are no better than she is! All I have to say is I will pray for the other parties involed like her family and his family cause they did not ask for this! Espically the Children
