MARLIN (October 19, 2009)--Marlin's interim police chief says he has launched an investigation, after a News 10 investigation uncovered the photo of a man recently subdued with a Taser on the MySpace page of a Marlin police sergeant.
The photo, on Sergeant Ryan Curry's profile, shows a man's torso as he is kneeling on the ground. In the photo you can see an obvious wet spot on the man's pants.
Curry, like many officers, works private security on the weekend at nightclubs in Waco. Curry says an unidentified officer snapped the picture in question after an incident on a recent weekend at a club in Waco.
Curry admits writing under the photo, "Guy pissed all over himself after he got tazed. Hahaha."
Interim Police Chief Darrell Allen says he has already launched an investigation, and talked with Curry about the picture.
Allen, who says Curry is an outstanding officer, said, "this is something I don't agree with, not impressed with, and I will do something about this."
Curry says he is sorry about the picture and didn't mean to offend anyone.
Curry's MySpace page was switched to private Monday evening.
