TROY (October 29, 2009)—An 18-wheeler rear-ended a car Thursday on Interstate 35 in Troy between Temple in Waco.

Rain was falling in the area at the time and the weather may have been a factor in the accident, which backed up southbound traffic briefly.

One of the passengers of the car complained of back pain and was taken to Scott & White Hospital in Temple.

I know the driver and she did not slam her brakes and did not see dollar signs, that goes to show you that you all would sue for money cause thats the first thing you thought of. her car was smashed and she is ok. May be the 18 rig guy fell asleep or was not paying attention... dont jump to assumptions when you dont know the whole story jack asses. Oh and have a great day

When are people going to learn to KEEP YOUR DISTANCE from 18-wheelers. Don't tailgate them, Sure the Heck don't ride along side them & stay aware of truckers coming up on you (don't let them tailgate you) Get out of their way! The general public has NO clue as to the blind spots 18 wheeler drivers have to deal with, or how long it takes to STOP one (or if the diver is mad at the world). If one wants to haul a** down the road...then let him go. Your 4000lb. car is no match for a 60,000 lb. rig! Think of it like this...how many times do you hear in major accidents involving cars & big trucks that 95% of the time, some if not all people in the car die & the trucker walks away. I KEEP my distance from trucks, either way ahead or way behind...NEVER ALONG SIDE of a truck & never tailgate a big truck. If i know a Big rig is behind me(tailgate me) in the rain i'll make sure to speed up, or let him by & not block traffic. That means staying OUT of the hammer lane if your holding up traffic!

The person who comkplained of back pain also intends to sue the driver of the 18 wheeler and the company he drives for event thought the wreck was techinically their fault. You can NOT cross in front of a big rig and slam on your brakes. STUPID. Especially in the rain. This was a minor fender bender and no way was anyone injured. The driver of the car saw dollar signs and ran with it.
