OGLESBY (November 17, 2009)-An Oglesby Ag teacher and several of his students who were returning to Oglesby Monday night were injured when the vehicle they were travelling in struck livestock in the roadway.
Rescue and fire units from Oglesby and Gatesville were sent at about 9 p.m. to the scene some two miles south of Oglesby on Farm to Market Road 1996.
Three of the students were taken to Providence Health Center, in Waco, by private car while the teacher was taken to Coryell Memorial Hospital, in Gatesville, by CMH Emergency Medical Service ambulance.
A report Tuesday morning indicated the injured were not hurt seriously.
A Texas Department of Public Safety trooper said the vehicle struck a cow that was standing in the middle of the roadway; the animal flew into the air and landed on the trunk of the vehicle.
The roadway was blocked for a time while rescuers cleared the debris.
The driver and passengers were in an Oglesby ISD vehicle when the accident happened.

They left the cow there until about 2 yesterday afternoon.... kinda sick and a few months ago 4 wild hogs laid on the side of the road a lil ways up from where the cow laid.... maybe TxDOT needs to add some lights or something on that road?!
get well chuckie! and the students too!
