SAN SABA (November 18, 2009)--The San Saba County Sheriff's Office says it’s investigating the weekend death of a 13-month old.

Chief Deputy Bill James said a deputy was dispatched at around 5:20 a.m. Sunday to a home in the 100 block of Live Oak in Richland Springs.

James said when says when the deputy arrived at the home, the 13-month old was unresponsive.

The deputy performed CPR until paramedics arrived, and the baby was taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center in Brownwood, but efforts to save the child were unsuccessful.

James said hospital staff members notified the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and said investigators are treating the death as suspicious.

An autopsy was ordered, and James said investigators are waiting for autopsy results before deciding if any charges will be filed.
