(November 25, 2009)—Interstate 35 travelers were encountering some delays Wednesday because of construction that has narrowed lanes and shoulders and the story could be the same on Sunday as they head home after the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Traffic on the interstate was heavy Wednesday afternoon throughout Central Texas.

There were reports late Wednesday morning that northbound traffic was at a virtual standstill from Bellmead northward.

None of the main lanes of the highway is closed, but the construction south of Waco between New Road and Spring Valley Road could cause some backups, the Texas Department of Transportation said.

TxDOT crews were patrolling the interstate Wednesday to help travelers with minor problems and they’ll be back on the road Sunday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Why Why Why do we get these same stories each year??? Traffic? Shopping? It's stupid...Traffic will be bad and there will be shopping done on Friday. Why don't reporters find more interesting stories to do?
