A&M Coed Dies In Crash While Returning To Campus After Holiday
A Texas A&M coed died in a one-vehicle crash as she drove back to campus after the Thanksgiving Holiday.

GRIMES COUNTY (November 30, 2009)--A Texas A&M coed who was returning to school after the Thanksgiving holiday was killed Sunday morning in Grimes County when her vehicle hit a tree.

Missouri City resident Lauren Nicole Baker, 20, was pronounced dead around 11 a.m. at Grimes County St. Joseph Hospital.

Department of Public Safety investigators say at approximately 9:40 a.m. Sunday, Baker was driving north on Highway 6, about 10 miles south of Navasota when her 2007 Mazda swerved off the east side of the road and struck a tree.

She was wearing a seatbelt.

Baker's body was taken to Lindley, Robertson, Holt Funeral Home in Navasota.
