COLLEGE STATION (December 1, 2009)—The search for escaped Texas sex offender Arcade Joseph Comeaux, 49, was focused Tuesday on the College Station area, where officers were going door-to-door in an effort to find the inmate, who fled after overpowering two guards during a prison transfer Monday.
Comeaux pulled a gun on the two guards as he was being transferred Monday from a prison in Huntsville to a unit in Beaumont.
At the time of the escape, officials said, Comeaux was in a wheelchair that he claimed he needed to help move him around.
Comeaux took the officers' weapons, handcuffed the two together in the back of the vehicle, and took a uniform before fleeing on foot.
The officers were later found unharmed about an hour later.
Officials said Comeaux was wearing one of the officer's gray uniforms and black boots when he was last seen.
He took the guards' weapons; a shotgun and two semiautomatic pistols and left his own weapon behind.
Comeaux was serving a life term after being convicted in 1998 of aggravated sexual assault in Brazos County.

Jayce, your stupid! It's the guns fault?! I'm sure the gun did it all by it's self didn't it?!! Your rediculious!!
Jayce, don't forget to remind our "wonderful" president to also take away all of our kitchen knives, forks, nail files, nail clippers, scissors, hammers, screwdrivers, pens and pencils, and pretty much anything else we use in our daily lives that can be used as a deadly weapon. And remember, guns don't kill people, people kill people.
You are so right Jayce. No crime has ever been committed with any weapon other than a gun!!!
