(December 19, 2008)--Medical researchers are recommending neck braces to headbangers to reduce injury.

The British Medical Journal has published a study of headbanging.

Researchers determined that the average headbanging song is 146 beats per minute, and when the range of motion is greater than 75 degrees, that's enough to cause mild head injury.

Higher tempos and greater range of motion lead to risk of neck injury.

Researchers suggest wearing "personal protective equipment," decreasing the range of head and neck motion, and only headbanging to every second beat or headbanging to slower tempo songs "by replacing heavy metal with adult-oriented rock."

Yes they need to wear neck braces, because in a few more years they will be complaining of disability and can't work and demand free health insurance to remedy their years of stupidity. Can't fix stupid.
