Mexia Weather

From Rusty Garrett:

After a soggy overnight and day Tuesday, the clouds will be thinning out, with mostly clear conditions by morning. Wet ground and light wind could lead to some patch fog Wednesday morning. A strong upper air disturbance will drop southward across eastern Texas Wednesday afternoon, and might spark an isolated thunderstorm, but rain chances in our eastern counties are well below 20%.

A northerly flow aloft will keep our temperatures at or below normal for the rest of the workweek, but Wednesday through Friday will be warmer than Tuesday.

The next upper air storm system will be dropping into Oklahoma Saturday, propelling a strong cold front across Central Texas on Saturday. There will be a brief period of showery weather as the front passes, then strong northerly winds and colder temperatures by Saturday afternoon. We are increasingly concerned that temperatures on Sunday may approach freezing in at least the northwestern counties, so stay tuned for updates on that part of the forecast.
