How Much Is Too Much? Highest-Paid CEO Makes $84.5 Million Save Email Print

(August 22, 2008)--According to an Associated Press tally, the highest-paid CEO last year was Oracle's Larry Ellison.

He made $84.5 million including salary, perks, bonuses, above-market interest on pay set aside for later, and company estimates for the value of stock options and stock awards on the day they were granted last year.

The AP ranks Merrill Lynch CEO John Thain at number two, at just more than $83 million.

Number three is Leslie Moonves, head of CBS, who according to the calculations, pulled in more than $67 million.
