Texas Gas Prices Hold Steady
Prices at the pump held steady this week, AAA-Texas says.

HOUSTON (January 31, 2009)--Retail gasoline prices held steady in Texas this week at $1.72 a gallon, AAA-Texas says.

But AAA says prices at the pump have jumped more than 25 cents since one month ago.

Nationwide gasoline prices averaged $1.84 by the end of the week.

El Paso had the most expensive retail gasoline this week, at $1.88 a gallon.

Corpus Christi had the cheapest gasoline, averaging $1.68.

AAA Texas spokeswoman Sarah Schimmer said nationwide, consumers and businesses continue to drive fewer miles and conserve fuel.

Around the state, prices range from as little as $1.59 a gallon at a station in Wichita Falls to as much as $2.29 a gallon at a station in Amarillo, according to Texasgasprices.com

This article is a few days behind! I've seen a 12 cents per gallon jump since Friday morning here in Killeen! What's UP with that, with oil prices dropping???
