(September 28, 2007)--A Delaware State University student accused of shooting two students last week has appeared at a preliminary hearing on attempted murder and other charges.

The judge in the case raised bail to $92,000 after a prosecutor complained the previous amount, $75,000, wasn't enough.

According to court documents, a witness told police that Loyer Braden admitted to the shooting.

In an affidavit, campus police say Braden told the witness that he would stay out of trouble if he got away with the shooting.

Another witness told police they heard Braden say he fired the shots air to scare the victims.

The court unsealed the police affidavit following a request by The Associated Press.

Braden was arrested Monday and has been in custody since.
