Black Hawks Collide In Northern Baghdad Save Email Print

A | A | A

(October 5, 2008)--Hostile fire does not appear to be the reason two U.S. helicopters collided while landing at a base in Baghdad Saturday night, killing an Iraqi soldier and injuring four others including two Americans, the military says.

It was the second helicopter crash in two weeks.

A transport helicopter en route from Kuwait crashed in the southern desert on Sept. 18 killing all seven Americans on board.

The crash was the result of a mechanical problem.
