Former First Lady In The Hospital After Fall Save Email Print

A | A | A

(October 15, 2008)—Former First Lady Nancy Reagan, 87, was in a hospital Wednesday in Los Angeles after suffering a broken pelvis in a fall.

A spokesman said the former first lady fell last week at her home, but admitted herself to the hospital only after experiencing "persistent pain."

Tests revealed a fractured pelvis and sacrum, which is the triangular bone within the pelvis.

Reagan is expected to remain hospitalized for a few days until doctors are satisfied with her progress.

Recovery is expected to take six to eight weeks.
