NEW YORK (May 19, 2009)—A 47-million-year-old fossil that experts say is the most complete fossil primate specimen ever found went on display Tuesday in New York City.
The fossil primate, called “Ida,” could revolutionize the understanding of human evolution, experts say.
Dr. Jorn Hurum first heard about the fossil in Hamburg, Germany and was invited to view the fossil in a private meeting.
He confirmed its authenticity.
The fossil was found preserved in Germany's Messel Pit
The mile-wide crater and oil-rich shale is a significant site for fossils of the Eocene period.

The show I just watched Tuesday night about this was PHENOMENAL!! It told the whole story of the team of reknowned scientists who came together to study Ida and how they determined everything about her! I was amazed! There is more out there to be proven and will but not in ours or even our children's lifetimes probably will we figure it all out!

Ok all you Bible thumpers...I am waiting to here from you on this one. Scientific evidence is a fact. And when we finally discover life on other planets and galaxies the truth will finally be known.
