Man Convicted Of 1960 Murder Of Coors Heir Shoots Himself
A man who served nearly 20 years in prison for the slaying of the grandson of the founder of the Coors brewery has died of what evidently was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

DENVER (August 25, 2009)--Joe Corbett, who served nearly 20 years in prison for the 1960 slaying of the grandson of the founder of the Coors brewery, has died of what was evidently a self-inflicted gunshot.

Chief Denver Deputy Coroner Michelle Weiss-Samaras said Corbett died from a single gunshot wound to the head Monday morning.

She says he was 80 years old and had been diagnosed with cancer.

Corbett was convicted of killing Adolph Coors III during a botched kidnapping attempt.

Colorado Department of Correction records show he served 19 years in prison his release in
December 1980.

Before the slaying, Corbett was a Fulbright scholar at the University of Oregon and had entertained dreams of going to medical school.

He had an IQ of 148.

Correct on never being let out of Prison. And he finally got what he deserved(death).

He should have never gotten out in the first place.
