SEATTLE (November 5, 2009)--About 600 atheists and agnostics are expected to gather this weekend in Seattle for the annual convention of the Freedom From Religion Foundation.

Scheduled speakers include Ron Reagan, an avowed atheist and son of the former president.

The convention will include a "Nonprayer Breakfast" on Saturday.

Co-president Laurie Gaylor told The Seattle Times that instead of bowing their heads in a moment of silence, participants would shout and tap on glasses to make as much noise as possible.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation claims about 14,000 members nationwide, including 900 in Washington State.

Atheists do not believe in anything. Just want to make life unbearable/miserable for anyone that has any religion! Madelyn Murray was cut up in pieces after she died, one of her sons turned to Religion, and the other stole all of her money, and they never figured out who killed her(and furthermore don't care) Roll over in your grave Madelyn!!!!!

where did you read that he "gets jealous" over false idols? Also, where is it indicated that "praise" is required?

Well, Dino, If 'god' gets jealous over false idols and also requires worship for "his children" to be allowed into the afterlife paradise then those are serious insecurities. A truly perfect being wouldn't require praise or get angry when people worship something other than a lower case t.
