Memorial Service Held For Seven Fallen Soldiers At Fort Lewis
Fort Hood was not the only Army post at which soldiers were mourning Tuesday.

FORT LEWIS, Washington (November 10, 2009)--Vice President Joe Biden spoke at Fort Lewis Tuesday during a memorial service for seven Stryker Brigade soldiers who were killed in bomb attacks on Oct. 27 while on patrol in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan.

Killed in the attack were Sgt. Fernando Delarosa, 24, of Alamo, Texas; Staff Sgt. Luis M. Gonzalez, 27, of South Ozone Park, N.Y.; Sgt. Dale R. Griffin, 29, of Terre Haute, Ind.; Sgt. Isaac B. Jackson, 27, of Plattsburg, Mo.: Patrick O. Williamson, 24, of Broussard, La.; Spc. Jared D. Stanker, 22, of Evergreen Park. Ill., Pfc. Christopher I. Walz, 25, of Vancouver, Wash.

A service was held last week for Fort Lewis Pfc. Brian R. Bates, 20, who died in a separate attack on the same day.

Biden met with some of the fallen soldiers' family members before the memorial began Tuesday.
