(May 20, 2007)--Christian men's ministries are announcing plans for a rally on Oct. 6 in Washington, D.C. to mark the tenth anniversary of the 1997 Promise Keepers event that attracted an estimated one million men to the National Mall.

The chairman of Stand in the Gap 2007, the Rev. Marty Granger, says teen-agers, adults, middle-aged men and the elderly will gather before God in response to Psalm 145, verse four, which says: "One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts."

He hopes future men's gatherings will be held in the seventh year of each decade.

Granger says Stand in the Gap 2007 won't be a Promise Keepers event, although many PK veterans are expected to participate.

He says the lawn around the Washington Monument and the neighboring Ellipse can accommodate up to 250,000 men.
