SAN LUIS, Colo. (November 27, 2009)—A rancher and sheriff’s officials are baffled over a creepy string of calf mutilations in southern Colorado, but a UFO chaser thinks extraterrestrials are involved.

Four calves were found dead in a pasture just north of the New Mexico state line in recent weeks.

Their skins were peeled back and organs had been cleared from the rib cage.

The tongue of one calf was removed.

Rancher Manuel Sanchez has found no evidence of human attackers, such as footprints or ATV tracks or of animal attackers such as pools of blood.

Sheriff's officers told The Pueblo Chieftan they're baffled.

The incidents have led to speculation the mutilations are the work of aliens.

An area UFO chaser, Chuck Zukowski of Colorado Springs, says another calf was found dead near Trinidad earlier this year with its ears removed.
