GOVERNMENT CAMP, Ore. (December 15, 2009)—Authorities said Tuesday there’s little chance two missing Mount Hood climbers are still alive.

A whiteout was preventing ground crews and a rescue helicopter from resuming a search for the two climbers Tuesday.

Anthony Vietti and Katie Nolan have been missing since Friday.

The body of their climbing companion was found Saturday at about 9,000 feet up.

Tuesday’s heavy snows are causing hopes of finding the pair to fade.

A spokesman for the search and rescue operation says conditions aren't expected to improve much for a couple of days, but rescuers say Vietti and Nolan are believed to have ice axes, which they could use to carve out a snow cave for protection.

As of yesterday(Wednesday the 16th) it is a search for the bodies. No chance for survival. Sorry for the deaths.
